Sankaburi District is located in the western part of Thailand, under Phetchaburi Province, in the Thai-Myanmar border area, about 220 kilometers from Bangkok. The district is known for its natural beauty and multiculturalism with dense forests, mountains and rivers, making it a popular destination for eco-tourism. The inhabitants of Sangkaburi district mainly comprise ethnic minorities such as the Thai, Mon and Karen, creating a unique blend of cultures. The main economic activities are agriculture, handicrafts and border trade.
Sangkaburi District has a mountainous terrain and is adjacent to the historical pass of the Three Pagodas Pass, which was an important node in the ancient trade routes. Notable attractions include the Sangkaburi Reservoir, wildlife sanctuaries and border markets, which attract visitors for trekking, bird watching and cultural experiences. The climate is tropical monsoon with distinct rainy and dry seasons, making it suitable for outdoor activities.
The county is culturally rich, preserving traditional festivals and crafts such as weaving and wood carving. The economy relies on rice cultivation, fishing and small-scale tourism, with gradual improvements in infrastructure in recent years contributing to regional development. With its tranquil natural environment and border features, Sankaburi district is an ideal place to explore the potential of western Thailand.
São Tomé and Príncipe is an island country in west-central Africa, consisting of the islands of São Tomé and Príncipe and the surrounding islets, with the capital, São Tomé, located in the northeastern part of São Tomé. Located on the Gulf of Guinea, about 200 kilometers from the African continent, the country was colonized by Portugal in the 15th century and became independent in 1975, with Portuguese as the official language and an economy based on agriculture (cocoa, palm oil) and tourism. It should be noted that "Java" is not a city or region of the country; Java is the main island of Indonesia, with cities such as Jakarta and Surabaya, and has nothing to do with São Tomé and Príncipe, possibly due to a confusion of names.
