Sanare is an important city in the western Venezuelan state of Barinas, located in the center of the state on a vast plain (Los Yanos region). It is not only the administrative center of the municipality of the same name, Sanare, but also an important agricultural and livestock center in the region.
The economy of Sanare is centered on agriculture and animal husbandry, and is surrounded by vast pastures known for cattle breeding, which produces high-quality beef and dairy products. Rice, corn and other crops are also grown in the region.
