Same, the capital of Timor-Leste's Ainaro District, is located about 50 kilometers south of the capital, Dili, in the mountainous interior and is an important agricultural and transportation hub for the country. It is known for its coffee farming, surrounded by terraced fields that produce Timor-Leste's premium Arabica coffee beans. Historically, Samu was an important stronghold during Timor-Leste's War of Independence, and remnants of the resistance movement still remain in the area, attracting history buffs to explore. The surrounding area is rich in natural beauty and close to Mount Ramelau, Timor-Leste's highest peak, making it a stopover for hiking enthusiasts. A blend of traditional Timacu culture and modern townscape, Samu offers a unique look at the interior of Timor-Leste.
Yirol, the capital of Lakes State in South Sudan, is located in the center of the country, about 200 kilometers south of Juba, in the White Nile River basin on the edge of the Sudd Swamp. As the core city of the Lakes State, Yirol is the administrative, commercial and transportation center of the region, and the surrounding area is dominated by agriculture and livestock, producing crops such as sorghum and maize, as well as rich fishery resources. The inhabitants are mostly Dinka and other ethnic groups, with a strong traditional tribal culture. Although the infrastructure is still under development, Irole, by virtue of its location, is an important node connecting the central and western parts of South Sudan, and one of the gateways for exploring South Sudan's natural and human landscapes.
