Same, the capital of Timor-Leste's Ainaro District, is located about 50 kilometers south of the capital, Dili, in the mountainous interior and is an important agricultural and transportation hub for the country. It is known for its coffee farming, surrounded by terraced fields that produce Timor-Leste's premium Arabica coffee beans. Historically, Samu was an important stronghold during Timor-Leste's War of Independence, and remnants of the resistance movement still remain in the area, attracting history buffs to explore. The surrounding area is rich in natural beauty and close to Mount Ramelau, Timor-Leste's highest peak, making it a stopover for hiking enthusiasts. A blend of traditional Timacu culture and modern townscape, Samu offers a unique look at the interior of Timor-Leste.
Caitité is a landlocked city in central Guinea-Bissau, about 200 kilometers southeast of the country's capital, Bissau, and part of the East Guinea-Bissau Province. As a regionally important agricultural distribution center, Caitité is surrounded by crops such as cashews, peanuts and maize, and the local economy is dominated by the cultivation, primary processing and small-scale trade of agricultural products, with an active market that attracts residents from neighboring villages to trade. The city is small but has basic medical and educational facilities and is a key node connecting the rural areas to the regional economy. Due to its location in the savannah climate zone, which is characterized by high temperatures and heavy rainfall throughout the year, agriculture is dependent on rainy season precipitation. In recent years, as the Government of Guinea-Bissau has promoted rural development, the agricultural infrastructure in Hitoli has been gradually improved, injecting new dynamism into the local economy.
