Xingxian County is located in the north of Lvliang City, Shanxi Province, on the east bank of the middle reaches of the Yellow River, in the northern part of the Lvliang Mountain Range, the hinterland of the Loess Plateau, and is an important county at the junction of the Jin-Shaanxi and Mongolia provinces. As the capital of Jinsui Border Region, it was once a revolutionary base during the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the War of Liberation, preserving red relics such as the old revolutionary site of Jinsui Border Region and Caijiaya Revolutionary Memorial Hall, which is known as the "Cradle of Jinsui". The terrain of the territory is mainly mountainous, with magnificent scenery of the Yellow River Gorge, and natural landscapes such as Shilou Mountain and Heicha Mountain, which have both ecological and humanistic heritage. Economically, agriculture is characterized by small grains (grains, soybeans), jujubes and walnuts, and industry is gradually transforming based on coal, coking and other resource industries. Xingxian County combines red culture, ecological resources and folk traditions (such as Xingxian rice-planting songs and paper-cutting), and is a representative of the Lvliang region that combines a sense of historical gravity with development vitality.
