Lobamba is the legislative capital and traditional seat of the royal family of the African nation of Eswatini (formerly known as Swaziland), located in the west of the country, about 16 kilometers from the economic capital Mbabane. As the political and cultural heart of the country, it is the site of royal ceremonies and boasts important landmarks such as the mausoleum of King Sobhuza II, the Parliament building and the National Museum. Lobamba's most prestigious cultural event is the annual Reed Dance Festival, where thousands of unmarried young girls perform traditional dances, showcasing Esvatini's unique cultural heritage.
