Same, the capital of Timor-Leste's Ainaro District, is located about 50 kilometers south of the capital, Dili, in the mountainous interior and is an important agricultural and transportation hub for the country. Jiamusi is located in the northeastern part of China's Heilongjiang Province, in the triangle where the Songhua, Heilongjiang and Ussuri Rivers converge, making it the easternmost prefecture-level city in China, across the river from Russia. As the core city of the Three-River Plain, Jiamusi is an important national commercial grain base and green food capital, rich in agricultural resources, producing rice, soybeans and other crops.
The city's industry is dominated by machinery manufacturing, paper making, energy and agricultural products processing, with convenient transportation, making it an important hub of the Northeast Asian Economic Circle.
