Same, the capital of Timor-Leste's Ainaro District, is located about 50 kilometers south of the capital, Dili, in the mountainous interior and is an important agricultural and transportation hub for the country. It is known for its coffee farming, surrounded by terraced fields that produce Timor-Leste's premium Arabica coffee beans. Historically, Samu was an important stronghold during Timor-Leste's War of Independence, and remnants of the resistance movement still remain in the area, attracting history buffs to explore. The surrounding area is rich in natural beauty and close to Mount Ramelau, Timor-Leste's highest peak, making it a stopover for hiking enthusiasts. A blend of traditional Timacu culture and modern townscape, Samu offers a unique look at the interior of Timor-Leste.
Located in the northeastern part of China's Sichuan Province, Bazhong City is situated at the southern foot of the Micang Mountains in the Daba Mountain System, and is the core area of the Sichuan-Shaanxi Old Revolutionary Region. The city is known for its red culture, ecological resources and historical sites, with a total area of about 12,300 square kilometers and a population of about 2.5 million.
Bazhong is an important national red tourism destination, with revolutionary memorial sites such as the Red Army Martyrs' Cemetery in the Sichuan-Shaanxi Soviet Area and Deng Xiaoping's former residence. Meanwhile, it retains historical and cultural heritages such as the Mi Cang Ancient Road and Nan Niche Cliff Statues, blending the culture of the Ba people with the flavor of the Qin and Han dynasties.
The economy is dominated by agriculture, tourism and green industries, producing walnuts, tea and other specialties. The Guangwu Mountain-Noshui River National Geopark is famous for its karst landforms and virgin forests, and is known as a "natural oxygen bar", attracting a large number of tourists every year.
Bazhong is connected to Chengdu and Chongqing by highways and railroads, and is actively promoting rural revitalization and eco-tourism, aiming to become an important gateway city in northeast Sichuan.
