Salingyi is a border town in the northern part of Kachin State, Myanmar, located northwest of Myitkyina, near the China-Myanmar border, and is one of the important land crossings connecting Myanmar with China's Yunnan Province. The area is mainly agricultural, producing rice, teak and other agricultural products, while the neighboring area is rich in mineral resources, which has attracted some investment in recent years. Salinki is a multi-ethnic settlement with a blend of Burmese, Kachin and other cultural features, and the area retains traditional market trade and handicrafts.
