Sakété is an important city in the department of Ouémé in southern Benin, close to the Nigerian border, known for its rich Yoruba cultural traditions and active agricultural market. As a historical and cultural town in southern Benin, Sakété has preserved ancient Yoruba customs, such as the annual traditional festival of Gèlèdè, which attracts many visitors to experience unique folkloric performances and masked dances.
