Saipan is the capital of the Northern Mariana Islands, located in the Western Pacific Ocean and is a U.S. federal territory. The island is known as a popular tourist destination for its tropical scenery, World War II historical sites and rich marine activities.

Khost is the capital of Khost Province in the eastern province of Afghanistan, adjacent to the Pakistan border, and is one of the major transportation hubs between Afghanistan and South Asia.
