Saiburi is a district (Amphoe) in Pattani Province in southern Thailand, located on the east coast of the Malay Peninsula near the Gulf of Thailand. The area is known for its multiculturalism, with the main inhabitants being Thai, Malay and Chinese, and the co-existence of Islam and Buddhism. The economy of Saipuri is based on agriculture, fishing and rubber plantation, with tranquil beaches and traditional fishing villages along the coast. Due to its location on the southern border, local law and order requires visitors to pay attention to government travel advisories. The city is about a 2-hour drive from Hat Yai, making it a great place to explore the natural and human side of Southern Thailand.
Saipuri retains a strong Malay-Islamic cultural tradition, with mosques and Buddhist temples built next to each other, local handicrafts and seafood markets. The economy is based on rubber, palm oil and fisheries, but in recent years, eco-tourism has evolved. Visitors can experience rural life and savor southern Thai specialties such as fish curry and coconut rice, but be aware that there are occasional security fluctuations in the south and it is advisable to check the latest travel advisories in advance.
São Tomé and Príncipe is an island country in west-central Africa, consisting of the islands of São Tomé and Príncipe and the surrounding islets, with the capital, São Tomé, located in the northeastern part of São Tomé. Located on the Gulf of Guinea, about 200 kilometers from the African continent, the country was colonized by Portugal in the 15th century and became independent in 1975, with Portuguese as the official language and an economy based on agriculture (cocoa, palm oil) and tourism. It should be noted that "Java" is not a city or region of the country; Java is the main island of Indonesia, with cities such as Jakarta and Surabaya, and has nothing to do with São Tomé and Príncipe, possibly due to a confusion of names.
