Located in the southern part of Azerbaijan, Satre District is an important administrative division of the country, known for its natural beauty and agricultural economy. With a total area of about 770 square kilometers and a population of about 100,000, the district is situated in the belt of the Lesser Caucasus Mountains, with a mountainous terrain and a mild climate suitable for the cultivation of cereals and fruits.
Bordering on the Iranian border and about 250 kilometers away from the capital Baku, Satre District is rich in forests and water resources. There are several nature reserves in the district with rich biodiversity, making it an ideal destination for hiking and eco-tourism.
The economy is predominantly agricultural, producing wheat, grapes and nuts. Traditional Azerbaijani culture is preserved in the region, with handicrafts and folk festivals attracting tourists. The Satre district is easily accessible by road, connecting major cities and serving as an important gateway for exploring the south of Azerbaijan.
Located in the southeastern part of Chongqing Municipality, China, Pengshui Miao Tujia Autonomous County is situated in the Wuling Mountains and the middle and lower reaches of the Wujiang River, and is the only Miao Tujia Autonomous County in Chongqing Municipality. Famous for its unique ethnic culture and natural landscape, Penshui boasts national scenic spots such as the Ayi River, Wujiang River Gallery, and Mowei Mountain, incorporating karst landscape wonders such as canyons, caves, and rivers.
As the cultural gathering place of Miao and Tujia, Pengshui retains rich ethnic traditions, such as the intangible cultural heritage of the Miao Stomping Flower Mountain Festival and the Tujia Pendulum Dance. The economy is based on agriculture and tourism, and specialties such as Pengshui camphor and Miao embroidery are popular among tourists. Conveniently connected to the main city of Chongqing and surrounding areas via the Yuxiang Expressway and the Wujiang River waterway, it is an important node for cultural tourism in the Wuling Mountain Region.
