Consejo is a quiet town on the Caribbean Sea in the Corozal District of Belize, located about 16 kilometers south of the Belize-Mexico border. Known for its long white sandy beaches and clear turquoise waters, it is an ideal vacation spot to get away from the hustle and bustle. The town retains a strong Caribbean culture, with residents of mixed descent speaking both English and Spanish. Nearby Mayan ruins, such as those of Renton, and a mangrove ecoregion attract nature and culture lovers, and visitors can experience snorkeling, fishing, or visit traditional fishing villages.
