Besisahar is a quiet village in Nepal's Gandaki province, about 150 kilometers west of Kathmandu, known as "Asia's No. 1 Village". Instead of traffic lights, there are winding dirt roads, traditional wooden houses, and rolling rice paddies and mountain views. As the starting point of the Annapurna Circuit trek, Besisar has retained the original appearance of Nepalese villages, and its inhabitants are mainly engaged in agriculture, with a slow and harmonious pace of life.
