With a total area of about 770 square kilometers and a population of about 100,000, the district is situated in the belt of the Lesser Caucasus Mountains, with a mountainous terrain and a mild climate suitable for the cultivation of cereals and fruits.
Bordering on the Iranian border and about 250 kilometers away from the capital Baku, Satre District is rich in forests and water resources. There are several nature reserves in the district with rich biodiversity, making it an ideal destination for hiking and eco-tourism.
The economy is predominantly agricultural, producing wheat, grapes and nuts. Traditional Azerbaijani culture is preserved in the region, with handicrafts and folk festivals attracting tourists. The Satre district is easily accessible by road, connecting major cities and serving as an important gateway for exploring the south of Azerbaijan.
Barbados is an island nation located in the eastern Caribbean Sea, and Bayfield (Bathsheba) is a picturesque coastal village in its parish of St. Joseph. It is situated on the east coast of the island facing the Atlantic Ocean and is known for its spectacular rocky terrain, surging waves and unique surfing conditions.
Around Bayfield are huge coral rock formations, such as the famous "Mushroom Rocks", which have been eroded by the wind and waves over time to form mushroom-shaped landmarks. The area has strong waves, making it a popular destination for surfers, but the currents are strong enough for experienced surfers. Lush hills intertwine with the coastline to create a serene and pristine natural atmosphere.
Bayfield retains a traditional Barbadian rural culture, and the brightly colored cottages and fishing village feel of the area attract many artists and tourists. Nearby are the Bathsheba Art Studios, where Andy Warhol lived, and hiking trails such as the East Coast Trail. Visitors can sample fresh seafood and experience Caribbean island life away from the hustle and bustle.
