Rubal is a quiet town in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan, situated in the mountains at an altitude of about 1,200 meters, about 60 kilometers from the provincial capital of Peshawar, and known for its pleasant climate and deep Pashtun cultural heritage. The local economy is based on agriculture, producing wheat, corn, apples and apricots, and the residents are mostly engaged in farming and cottage industries, with traditional woolen carpets and wood carvings as specialties. The natural scenery around Rubal is beautiful, with terraced fields intertwined with orchards, wildflowers blooming in the spring and fruits in the fall, making it an ideal place to experience Pakistani rural life. Despite its small size, the simplicity of the people, the hospitality of its inhabitants and its unique mountain culture make it a hidden treasure for exploring the human and natural charms of the Pukhtunkhwa region.
Chihshang is a tourist township located in the northern end of Taitung County, Taiwan, China, in the center of the Huadong Longitudinal Valley Plain, known throughout Taiwan as a high-quality rice producing area. With an altitude of about 260 meters above sea level, the climate is pleasant, with an average annual temperature of about 23℃. The famous Ikegami Bento culture originates from the tradition of railroad rice bags here.
Burang Avenue has become a famous landmark due to coffee advertisements, and a large number of tourists are attracted to the Takeshi Kaneshiro tree and the landscape of rice paddies on Paradise Road. The Daepo Pond is a natural lake ecological area where you can see wetland ecology and migratory birds. The Chihshang Rice Pavilion showcases the culture of rice farming, and the annual Fall Rice Paddy Art Festival creates large-scale rice paddy paintings.
Chihshang Station on the Taiwan Railway is an important transportation node, and specialties include Chihshang rice, bean skins, rice cakes, and other processed agricultural products. It is recommended to visit the idyllic countryside by bicycle. The best time to visit is during the period of golden rice ears in October-November and the period of bright green rice waves in April-May.
