Rwanda's Rulindo: The Agricultural Pearl of the North

Rulindo is a sub-district of Rwanda's Northern Province, located about 120 kilometers north of the capital, Kigali, between the country's rolling hills and valleys, with agriculture as its leading industry. With a mild climate and fertile soil, the district grows coffee, tea, maize and beans, and is one of the most important suppliers of agricultural products to Rwanda. The residents of Rulindo are mostly Hutu and Tutsi living in harmony, preserving the traditional farming culture and strong community cohesion. In recent years, the local government has promoted eco-agriculture and sustainable development, encouraging organic cultivation, while developing small-scale eco-tourism based on natural landscapes to attract tourists to experience rural life. Although the infrastructure is still being improved, the simplicity of the people and the green ecology of Rulindo have made it a low-profile but vibrant "green pearl" in northern Rwanda.
