Amphoe Ruso District is located in Songkhla Province in southern Thailand, bordered by the Gulf of Thailand to the east and Sabaree District to the west, and is a tranquil coastal area dominated by fishing and agriculture. The district covers an area of about 200 square kilometers and has a population of about 15,000, with a predominantly Muslim population that retains strong Malay cultural traditions.
Ruso District has a flat topography and a long coastline with mangrove forests and sandy beaches. It has a tropical monsoon climate, with an average annual temperature of 28°C. The period from November to February is suitable for tourism. The main natural attractions include the Banlano Beach and coastal wetlands, which are ideal for observing migratory birds and local ecology.
The economy is based on marine fishing, rubber plantation and small-scale tourism. The area is known for traditional fishing boat operations and fish sauce production, and fresh seafood and handicrafts can be experienced at the weekly market. Residents live in waterfront stilt houses and retain a unique maritime gypsy culture.
Songkhla is about a 1.5-hour drive from the capital city of Songkhla, with idyllic views along the way. Visitors are advised to explore the local temples, participate in fishing experiences and enjoy the specialty seafood hot pot. The best time to visit is during the dry season, and care should be taken to respect local Islamic culture and customs.
São Tomé and Príncipe is an island country in west-central Africa, consisting of the islands of São Tomé and Príncipe and the surrounding islets, with the capital, São Tomé, located in the northeastern part of São Tomé. Located on the Gulf of Guinea, about 200 kilometers from the African continent, the country was colonized by Portugal in the 15th century and became independent in 1975, with Portuguese as the official language and an economy based on agriculture (cocoa, palm oil) and tourism. It should be noted that "Java" is not a city or region of the country; Java is the main island of Indonesia, with cities such as Jakarta and Surabaya, and has nothing to do with São Tomé and Príncipe, possibly due to a confusion of names.
