Ruby is a small incorporated town in Tangipahoa Parish, Louisiana, United States, located about 60 miles northeast of the state capital of Baton Rouge and adjacent to the Mississippi border, and characterized by a quiet rural atmosphere and a deep community culture. Sparsely populated, with fewer than 500 people according to the most recent census, the town dates back to the late 1800s and, with its early rise to an agricultural economy (e.g., cotton and soybean farming), still retains the rustic look of a traditional Southern town. The town's landmarks include a century-old community church and several Victorian-style homes, and the annual fall "Ruby Family Day," which blends elements of local Cajun and Creole culture, has become a shared memory for the surrounding residents. Despite its small size, Ruby epitomizes the serenity of the American countryside with its simple folk and distinctive Louisiana southern flavor.
Xuhui District is one of the central districts of Shanghai, located in the southwestern part of the city and adjacent to the Huangpu River, which is an important node connecting the two sides of the river. There are centuries-old buildings in the Hengfu Historical and Cultural Landscape Area, such as the Wukang Building and the Xujiahui Catholic Church, which bear witness to Shanghai's urban memory; and there are also new landmarks of science, technology and art along the Xuhui Riverfront, such as the West Coast Media Harbor and the Long Museum of Fine Arts, which outline the skyline of the modern metropolis. As Shanghai's educational and cultural highland, the area is home to top academic institutions such as Shanghai Jiaotong University and Shanghai Medical College of Fudan University, as well as cultural facilities such as the Shanghai Symphony Orchestra and Xujiahui Book Collection. In terms of commerce, shopping districts such as Grand Gateway 66 Plaza and Metro City satisfy diversified consumption needs, forming a unique urban charm of "history as the soul and innovation as the wings", which is a vivid epitome of Shanghai's urban culture and modern development.
