Ruby is a small incorporated town in Tangipahoa Parish, Louisiana, United States, located about 60 miles northeast of the state capital of Baton Rouge and adjacent to the Mississippi border, and characterized by a quiet rural atmosphere and a deep community culture. Sparsely populated, with fewer than 500 people according to the most recent census, the town dates back to the late 1800s and, with its early rise to an agricultural economy (e.g., cotton and soybean farming), still retains the rustic look of a traditional Southern town. The town's landmarks include a century-old community church and several Victorian-style homes, and the annual fall "Ruby Family Day," which blends elements of local Cajun and Creole culture, has become a shared memory for the surrounding residents. Despite its small size, Ruby epitomizes the serenity of the American countryside with its simple folk and distinctive Louisiana southern flavor.
Sangzhi County is located in the northwestern part of China's Hunan Province, under the jurisdiction of Zhangjiajie City, in the hinterland of the Wuling Mountains. As the core area of Xiang-E-Chu-Qian old revolutionary area, Sangzhi is the starting point of the Long March of the Red Army of the Second Front, and possesses a profound red cultural heritage. The county covers a total area of 3,474 square kilometers, and the ethnic minorities, mainly Tujia and Bai, account for 88% of the total population in the territory, forming a unique ethnic flavor.
Sangzhi is surrounded by ecological secrets such as Peak Range Stream National Forest Park and Bada Gongshan Primitive Forest, which is the birthplace of the river and one of the first batch of "Natural Oxygen Bars of China" in China. There are red attractions such as the former residence of He Long and the Memorial Hall for the Departure of the Second Red Army on the Long March, as well as folk cultural experience programs such as the Tujia footstools and the Bai Three Tea Ceremonies, which form the tourism characteristics of "red and green".
The local area is rich in Chinese medicinal herbs such as eucommia and quinquefolium, and agricultural products such as Mulberry radish and honey have been certified by the National Geographic Indication. In recent years, it has focused on the development of eco-tourism, green agriculture and clean energy industries, and the development of tourism along the western route of Zhangjiajie has injected new vitality into the development of the region, and it is now constructing a model county for the revitalization of villages in the Wuling Mountain Area.
