Ruby is a small incorporated town in Tangipahoa Parish, Louisiana, United States, located about 60 miles northeast of the state capital of Baton Rouge and adjacent to the Mississippi border, and characterized by a quiet rural atmosphere and a deep community culture. Sparsely populated, with fewer than 500 people according to the most recent census, the town dates back to the late 1800s and, with its early rise to an agricultural economy (e.g., cotton and soybean farming), still retains the rustic look of a traditional Southern town. The town's landmarks include a century-old community church and several Victorian-style homes, and the annual fall "Ruby Family Day," which blends elements of local Cajun and Creole culture, has become a shared memory for the surrounding residents. Despite its small size, Ruby epitomizes the serenity of the American countryside with its simple folk and distinctive Louisiana southern flavor.
Pathum Thani is located in central Thailand, north of Bangkok Metropolitan Area, about 30 kilometers from the center of Bangkok, and is an important satellite city of the capital city, as well as a center of education and technology. The district is situated in a tributary of the Chao Phraya River and has a tropical monsoon climate with flat topography and hot and humid climate. As the capital of Pathum Thani Province, the district is known as "Thailand's University City" because of its high concentration of universities and colleges, including the Asian University of Science and Technology and Lansdowne University. Economically, in addition to traditional agriculture, the convenient transportation location has attracted a large number of technology parks and manufacturing enterprises, such as Navanakorn Industrial City, an important industrial hub in northern Thailand. In addition, the area is a blend of modern urban and traditional rural culture, with temples and floating markets along the Chao Phraya River still retaining a strong regional identity, attracting tourists and investors.
