Ruby is a small incorporated town in Tangipahoa Parish, Louisiana, United States, located about 60 miles northeast of the state capital of Baton Rouge and adjacent to the Mississippi border, and characterized by a quiet rural atmosphere and a deep community culture. Sparsely populated, with fewer than 500 people according to the most recent census, the town dates back to the late 1800s and, with its early rise to an agricultural economy (e.g., cotton and soybean farming), still retains the rustic look of a traditional Southern town. The town's landmarks include a century-old community church and several Victorian-style homes, and the annual fall "Ruby Family Day," which blends elements of local Cajun and Creole culture, has become a shared memory for the surrounding residents. Despite its small size, Ruby epitomizes the serenity of the American countryside with its simple folk and distinctive Louisiana southern flavor.
Ludian County, belonging to Zhaotong City in Yunnan Province, is located in the hinterland of the Wumeng Mountainous Region and is an important agricultural county and ecological barrier in northeast Yunnan. The undulating mountains and rivers in the territory and the Niulan River, a tributary of the Jinsha River, meandering through, have nurtured rich natural resources and diversified ethnic cultures. It is famous for "the hometown of peppers" and "the hometown of walnuts", and its agricultural and specialty products are of excellent quality and are sold both at home and abroad. Historically, Ludian was rebuilt after the 2014 earthquake, and now the new county town has become a model for rural revitalization by integrating modern planning and ethnic characteristics. The local Yi, Hui and other ethnic minorities are rich in flavor, and the Torch Festival and Hui festivals are unique and charming, making it an ideal place to experience the humanities and nature of the Wumeng Mountain Region.
