Ruby is a small incorporated town in Tangipahoa Parish, Louisiana, United States, located about 60 miles northeast of the state capital of Baton Rouge and adjacent to the Mississippi border, and characterized by a quiet rural atmosphere and a deep community culture. Sparsely populated, with fewer than 500 people according to the most recent census, the town dates back to the late 1800s and, with its early rise to an agricultural economy (e.g., cotton and soybean farming), still retains the rustic look of a traditional Southern town. The town's landmarks include a century-old community church and several Victorian-style homes, and the annual fall "Ruby Family Day," which blends elements of local Cajun and Creole culture, has become a shared memory for the surrounding residents. Despite its small size, Ruby epitomizes the serenity of the American countryside with its simple folk and distinctive Louisiana southern flavor.
Longmen County is part of Huizhou City, Guangdong Province, China, located in the northeast of the Pearl River Delta, with a total area of 2,295 square kilometers, dominated by mountainous and hilly landscapes, with a forest coverage rate of more than 76%, making it a national ecological demonstration area.
Longmen is famous for its hot springs resources, with several well-known resorts such as the Nankunshan Hot Spring Grand View Garden. Nankun Mountain National Forest Park is known as the "Oasis on the Tropic of Cancer", preserving a complete ecological system of subtropical evergreen broad-leaved forests. It is also the "Hometown of Chinese Folk Culture and Art", and Longmen Peasant Painting has become a provincial intangible cultural heritage with its rich colors and local themes.
As an important ecological barrier of the Pearl River Delta, Longmen vigorously develops eco-tourism and modern agriculture, and is rich in agricultural products such as honey and Chinese tangerines. With the Guangzhou-Hebei Expressway and Wu-Shenzhen Expressway running through its entire territory, it is about 1.5 hours' drive from Guangzhou and Shenzhen, making it a popular short-haul travel destination in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
