Ruby is a small incorporated town in Tangipahoa Parish, Louisiana, United States, located about 60 miles northeast of the state capital of Baton Rouge and adjacent to the Mississippi border, and characterized by a quiet rural atmosphere and a deep community culture. Sparsely populated, with fewer than 500 people according to the most recent census, the town dates back to the late 1800s and, with its early rise to an agricultural economy (e.g., cotton and soybean farming), still retains the rustic look of a traditional Southern town. The town's landmarks include a century-old community church and several Victorian-style homes, and the annual fall "Ruby Family Day," which blends elements of local Cajun and Creole culture, has become a shared memory for the surrounding residents. Kangding, located in the eastern part of Ganzi Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture in Sichuan Province, is an important historical and cultural city and tourist attraction in western Sichuan, known as the "hometown of love songs" and the "thoroughfare of Tibet and the West". This plateau city at an altitude of 2,560 meters, because of a "Kangding Love Song" world-famous, meandering folding river through the city, and running horse mountain, Muguo and other natural landscapes. As the core area of Khamba culture, it integrates the multi-ethnic styles of Tibet, Han and Yi, and the ancient potshuang dance, melodious Tibetan folk songs and unique architectural features tell of a thousand years of cultural intermingling. Kangding is not only an important station on the Tea and Horse Road, but also a golden node for tourism in western Sichuan.
