Ruby is a small incorporated town in Tangipahoa Parish, Louisiana, United States, located about 60 miles northeast of the state capital of Baton Rouge and adjacent to the Mississippi border, and characterized by a quiet rural atmosphere and a deep community culture. Sparsely populated, with fewer than 500 people according to the most recent census, the town dates back to the late 1800s and, with its early rise to an agricultural economy (e.g., cotton and soybean farming), still retains the rustic look of a traditional Southern town. The town's landmarks include a century-old community church and several Victorian-style homes, and the annual fall "Ruby Family Day," which blends elements of local Cajun and Creole culture, has become a shared memory for the surrounding residents. Despite its small size, Ruby epitomizes the serenity of the American countryside with its simple folk and distinctive Louisiana southern flavor.
Located in the eastern part of Zhongshan City, Guangdong Province, China, Torch Hi-Tech Industrial Development Zone is one of the first batch of state-level hi-tech industrial development zones co-founded by the State Science and Technology Commission, Guangdong Provincial Government and Zhongshan City in 1990. With a total area of about 70 square kilometers, the zone focuses on electronic information, healthcare and pharmaceuticals, high-end equipment manufacturing and modern service industries, and has attracted a number of Fortune 500 companies, including Canon and Wistron.
As an important part of the Pearl River Delta National Innovation Demonstration Zone, Torch Development Zone has a comprehensive industrial chain and an innovative and entrepreneurial environment, with a number of science and technology business incubators and research and development organizations in the zone. Its close proximity to Zhongshan Port and the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Corridor makes it an important base for technological innovation and industrial upgrading in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
In recent years, the development zone has continued to optimize the business environment, promote the integration of industry and urban development, and synchronize high-quality education, medical care and living facilities, gradually forming a modern science and technology new city pattern that is pleasant to work and live in.
