Ruby is a small incorporated town in Tangipahoa Parish, Louisiana, United States, located about 60 miles northeast of the state capital of Baton Rouge and adjacent to the Mississippi border, and characterized by a quiet rural atmosphere and a deep community culture. Sparsely populated, with fewer than 500 people according to the most recent census, the town dates back to the late 1800s and, with its early rise to an agricultural economy (e.g., cotton and soybean farming), still retains the rustic look of a traditional Southern town. The town's landmarks include a century-old community church and several Victorian-style homes, and the annual fall "Ruby Family Day," which blends elements of local Cajun and Creole culture, has become a shared memory for the surrounding residents. Despite its small size, Ruby epitomizes the serenity of the American countryside with its simple folk and distinctive Louisiana southern flavor.
Duyun, located in the south-central part of Guizhou Province, is the capital of Qiannan Buyi and Miao Autonomous Prefecture and is known as the "Emerald Tea City". This city of mountains and water is famous for "Duyun Mao Jian", one of China's top ten famous teas, with delicate buds and long-lasting aroma, which is cultivated in high mountain tea gardens such as snail shells and Yunwu mountains surrounded by clouds and mist. The Jianjiang River, which passes through the city, with its rippling blue waves and green trees on both sides, and the Doupengshan National Nature Reserve together form an ecological picture scroll of "city in the mountains and water in the city". The stone streets in the old town retain the style of Ming and Qing Dynasties, and the ethnic minorities, such as Buyi and Miao, are rich in flavor, with embroidery, silver ornaments, long-table feasts and other special cultural experiences. Duyun has a pleasant climate, with an average annual temperature of about 15.8℃, no severe cold in winter and no scorching heat in summer, which makes it a summer resort as well as a charming city to savor the fragrance of tea and feel the ethnic customs.
