Ruby is a small incorporated town in Tangipahoa Parish, Louisiana, United States, located about 60 miles northeast of the state capital of Baton Rouge and adjacent to the Mississippi border, and characterized by a quiet rural atmosphere and a deep community culture. Sparsely populated, with fewer than 500 people according to the most recent census, the town dates back to the late 1800s and, with its early rise to an agricultural economy (e.g., cotton and soybean farming), still retains the rustic look of a traditional Southern town. The town's landmarks include a century-old community church and several Victorian-style homes, and the annual fall "Ruby Family Day," which blends elements of local Cajun and Creole culture, has become a shared memory for the surrounding residents. Despite its small size, Ruby epitomizes the serenity of the American countryside with its simple folk and distinctive Louisiana southern flavor.
Located in the eastern part of Zhaoqing City, Guangdong Province, Dinghu District is an important ecological barrier in the Pearl River Delta region and is famous for Dinghu Mountain, the "emerald on the Tropic of Cancer". As China's first national nature reserve, Dinghu Mountain preserves the original monsoon evergreen broad-leaved forests, with an anion content of up to 120,000 per cubic centimeter, known as the "natural oxygen bar". Qingyun Temple in the area was built in the Tang Dynasty, is one of the ancestral courts of the Southern Buddhism, and Flying Water Pool, Butterfly Valley and other natural landscapes, constituting "mountains, lakes, temples, springs," an integrated ecotourism system. Dinghu is surrounded by the Xijiang River and Suijiang River, and has an excellent ecological environment, combining the flavor of the Lingnan water town with the fun of the mountains and forests, making it an ideal destination for leisure and vacation, research and recuperation, and also an important sample of the ecologically sustainable development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
