Ruby is a small incorporated town in Tangipahoa Parish, Louisiana, United States, located about 60 miles northeast of the state capital of Baton Rouge and adjacent to the Mississippi border, and characterized by a quiet rural atmosphere and a deep community culture. Sparsely populated, with fewer than 500 people according to the most recent census, the town dates back to the late 1800s and, with its early rise to an agricultural economy (e.g., cotton and soybean farming), still retains the rustic look of a traditional Southern town. The town's landmarks include a century-old community church and several Victorian-style homes, and the annual fall "Ruby Family Day," which blends elements of local Cajun and Creole culture, has become a shared memory for the surrounding residents. Despite its small size, Ruby epitomizes the serenity of the American countryside with its simple folk and distinctive Louisiana southern flavor.
Bujumbura is the capital of the Republic of Burundi, and also the largest city and political and economic center of the country, which is located in the north-eastern shore of Lake Tanganyika in the western part of the East African Rift Valley. As the only outlet to the sea in Burundi, Bujumbura is responsible for more than 90% of the country's import and export trade by virtue of the advantage of the lake and harbor, and the economy is mainly based on coffee, cotton and other agricultural products processing and fishery. Built on the lake, the city has a tropical grassland climate that gives it a mild and humid environment, and the lakeshore area is so beautiful that it is known as the "African Riviera". Although limited by infrastructure development, the local area combines traditional African flavor with colonial architecture, and the central market attracts tourists with handicrafts, bird ecology of Lake Ngozi and the annual "Bujumbura Cultural Festival". As Burundi's gateway city, Bujumbura plays an important role in regional trade and culture.
