Longuyon is a historic commune in the Meurthe-Moselle department of northeastern France, located near the Luxembourg border, about 320 kilometers from Paris. The town is known for its unique location and rich history, and was once an important transportation hub and trade center. The remains of medieval architecture, including the church of St. Martin and the ruins of the old castle, are preserved in the town, revealing a rich historical atmosphere. The natural environment around Longuyon is beautiful, with extensive forests and idyllic landscapes for outdoor activities and leisure excursions. The local economy is based on small-scale industry, agriculture and cross-border trade, and the friendly community atmosphere, with its mix of French and Luxembourgish culture, makes it an ideal place to experience rural life in north-eastern France.
Located in the northwestern part of Nantou County, Taiwan, and bordered by Taichung City in the north, Guoxing Township is the only township in Taiwan named after the title of a historical figure. Zheng Chenggong was given the surname "Zhu" by the Southern Ming Dynasty, and was honored by the people as the "Master of the National Surname", from which the name of the township originates. The terrain is mainly hilly and mountainous, with the Beigang River and its tributaries running through the whole area, and the climate is subtropical monsoon.
The residents of Guoxiao Township are mainly Hakka people, accounting for more than 80% of the total population, and it is a major town of Hakka culture in Nantou County. The area is rich in loquats, bananas, ginger, and coffee, of which "Guoxiao Coffee" has become a well-known brand of agricultural products. The annual event "National Surname Robbing Success" combines the culture of Zheng Chenggong and the Hakka spirit, and is listed as one of the 12 major festivals in Taiwan's Hakka Village.
The area is home to natural landscapes such as the Jiufen Ershan National Earthquake Memorial Site and the Huisun Forestry, as well as historical buildings such as the Nuomi Stone Bridge. One of the sources of Taiwan's longest river, the Turbid Water Creek, is located in the township, which is rich in ecological resources. In recent years, it has been actively developing eco-tourism and agricultural experiences, becoming an important leisure travel destination in Central Taiwan.
