Agoro, the capital of Uganda's northern Agago district, is located in the northeast of the country, adjacent to the border with South Sudan, and is an important trade node connecting Uganda with neighboring countries. As the center of the region, Agoro has a predominantly agrarian economy, with the local population mainly engaged in cotton and groundnut cultivation as well as animal husbandry, and a savannah climate that makes it suitable for a wide range of crops, with distinct rainy and dry seasons. The town has a population of about 50,000, with a multi-ethnic population, and a far-reaching Acholi culture, characterized by traditional dances and handicrafts.
