Rihvard (Liptovský Hrádok) is a small town in northern Slovakia, located in the Liptov region, at the foot of the Tatra Mountains and near the banks of the Váh River. It belongs to Žilina oblast, has a population of about 8,000 and is known for its natural beauty and rich history and culture.
The town's location in central Slovakia, close to the High Tatras National Park, makes it an ideal base for outdoor activities, for hiking, skiing and sightseeing. The surrounding area has thermal resources and historical sites, such as the ruins of Rihvard Castle, adding to its tourist appeal.
Dating back to the Middle Ages, Rihvard was once a noble domain and later developed into an agricultural and tourist center. The area retains traditional Slovak architecture and folklore, and regularly organizes festivals and events that reflect the richness of the region.
The economy is based on tourism, supplemented by agriculture and small-scale industry. Visitors can explore nature parks, visit museums or enjoy spa treatments, making it a peaceful and vibrant destination.
Same, the capital of Timor-Leste's Ainaro District, is located about 50 kilometers south of the capital, Dili, in the mountainous interior and is an important agricultural and transportation hub for the country. The surrounding area is rich in natural beauty and close to Mount Ramelau, Timor-Leste's highest peak, making it a stopover for hiking enthusiasts.
