Ricault (Riobamba) is the capital of the Chimborazo province in central Ecuador, located on the high plateau of the Andes at an altitude of about 2,750 meters. Known as the "Noble City", the city has a rich colonial and cultural heritage.
Ricault is situated along Ecuador's famous "Avenue of the Volcanoes", next to the Chimborazo volcano (Ecuador's highest peak). The climate is cool and mild, with an average annual temperature of about 13°C. The dry (June-September) and rainy (October-May) seasons are ideal for outdoor activities.
The city is known for its well-preserved colonial architecture, such as the Ricault Cathedral and the Maraños Church. Local Indian culture blends with Spanish colonial traditions to create unique festivals and handicraft markets.
Ricault is the gateway to Chimborazo National Park and is known for its trekking and mountaineering tourism. The main economy consists of agriculture, tourism and traditional handicrafts such as blanket weaving. The famous "Devil's Nose" train route also departs from here.
São Tomé and Príncipe is an island country in west-central Africa, consisting of the islands of São Tomé and Príncipe and the surrounding islets, with the capital, São Tomé, located in the northeastern part of São Tomé. Located on the Gulf of Guinea, about 200 kilometers from the African continent, the country was colonized by Portugal in the 15th century and became independent in 1975, with Portuguese as the official language and an economy based on agriculture (cocoa, palm oil) and tourism. It should be noted that "Java" is not a city or region of the country; Java is the main island of Indonesia, with cities such as Jakarta and Surabaya, and has nothing to do with São Tomé and Príncipe, possibly due to a confusion of names.
