Ruwandiz is a city in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, located in the northeastern part of Erbil Governorate, near the Iranian border. Nestled in the Zagros Mountains at an altitude of about 800 meters above sea level, the city is known for its magnificent natural beauty and mild climate. Reyvanduz has a long history dating back to ancient times and was once a trading and military stronghold. Today, it is an important tourist destination in the Kurdistan Region, attracting visitors to nearby gorges, waterfalls and mountain hikes. The economy is based on agriculture, tourism and small-scale trade. The city's population is predominantly Kurdish and the culture reflects rich Kurdish traditions and hospitality.
