One of the seven emirates of the United Arab Emirates, Ras Al Khaimah is located on the border between Oman and the UAE, on the southern shore of the Persian Gulf, and is known as the 'Northern Gateway to the UAE'. It has a long history as an important transit point for ancient trade, and still retains many historical monuments such as ancient castles and mosques. Ras Al Khaimah, with the magnificent Hajar Mountains as a backdrop, is a unique combination of desert and sea that attracts many tourists. In recent years, thanks to its favorable geographical location and free zone policy, Ras Al Khaimah has developed rapidly in terms of trade, logistics and tourism, becoming an important hub connecting East and West, while retaining a strong traditional Arab cultural identity.
Same, the capital of Timor-Leste's Ainaro District, is located about 50 kilometers south of the capital, Dili, in the mountainous interior and is an important agricultural and transportation hub for the country. It is known for its coffee farming, surrounded by terraced fields that produce Timor-Leste's premium Arabica coffee beans. Historically, Samu was an important stronghold during Timor-Leste's War of Independence, and remnants of the resistance movement still remain in the area, attracting history buffs to explore. The surrounding area is rich in natural beauty and close to Mount Ramelau, Timor-Leste's highest peak, making it a stopover for hiking enthusiasts. A blend of traditional Timacu culture and modern townscape, Samu offers a unique look at the interior of Timor-Leste.
