Radža is a quiet town in western North Macedonia, nestled in the southern foothills of the Šar Mountains, about 120 kilometers from the capital, Skopje. The town is known for its well-preserved Ottoman-era architecture and traditional Balkan flavor, with the old town's stone paths, wooden houses and quaint mosques speaking of its long history. Surrounded by dense forests and crystal clear mountain springs, it is an ideal destination for hiking and eco-tourism, especially in summer. The local people still practice handicrafts and traditional folklore, and the annual "Raja Cultural Festival" attracts many visitors to experience the authentic rural life of Northern Macedonia.
McDermitt is a unique small border town located in the northern part of Nevada, USA, on the border with Oregon, straddling the border between the two states. It is dominated by a Native American community and is part of the traditional territory of the Western Shoshone and Northern Paiute nations. The economy is based on agriculture, livestock, and small retail businesses, and the surrounding desert and mountainous landscape is mostly sparsely populated, with a 2020 count of only about 500 people. With a rich history as a military post and trading post, McDermitt is now characterized by a peaceful rural atmosphere and First Nations culture that attracts a handful of tourists to explore its natural beauty and frontier flair.
