Pulea is the downtown core of Apia, the capital of Samoa, located on the north coast of Upolu Island. As the political, economic and cultural center of the country, Pulea has a concentration of government institutions, commercial facilities and historical landmarks.
Located in the tropical South Pacific, Pulea has a tropical rainforest climate with an average annual temperature of approximately 26°C. The city is surrounded by volcanic landscapes with a variety of natural features. Surrounded by volcanic landscapes and coral reefs, it has unique natural features such as black sand beaches and a rainy season from November to April.
The area has preserved 19th century colonial buildings such as the historic Apia Courthouse. Traditional Samoan ceremonies (fa'asamoa) mingle with modern lifestyles, and the Capitol Building on the Mulinuu Peninsula bears witness to the country's independence.
Pulea is home to Samoa's major banks, harbor and marketplace. Famous attractions include the Robert Louis Stevenson Museum, the Fish Market and the Catholic Church, which is the gateway to experiencing Samoan weaving, song and dance culture.
São Tomé and Príncipe is an island country in west-central Africa, consisting of the islands of São Tomé and Príncipe and the surrounding islets, with the capital, São Tomé, located in the northeastern part of São Tomé. Located on the Gulf of Guinea, about 200 kilometers from the African continent, the country was colonized by Portugal in the 15th century and became independent in 1975, with Portuguese as the official language and an economy based on agriculture (cocoa, palm oil) and tourism. It should be noted that "Java" is not a city or region of the country; Java is the main island of Indonesia, with cities such as Jakarta and Surabaya, and has nothing to do with São Tomé and Príncipe, possibly due to a confusion of names.
