Piriápolis, located on the Atlantic coast in southeastern Uruguay, is a famous seaside resort in the department of Rocha, about 100 kilometers from the capital city of Montevideo. Founded in 1897 by Spanish immigrant José Serrato, the town attracts visitors from around the globe with its colonial architecture, long sandy beaches and laid-back atmosphere. The town's iconic attractions include Playa de los Dedos (Finger Beach), with its distinctive sandstone fingers reaching out into the sea, and Cerro de la Ballena, some 130 meters above sea level, which offers breathtaking views of the sea and the town at its summit. Stroll down Avenida de las Leyendas, lined with colorful villas and historic buildings, and ending at the beach, where cafes and craft stores have a local flavor. Ideal for surfing and sunbathing in the summer, as well as peaceful walks along the beach in the winter, Piriapolis is the ideal destination for experiencing Uruguay's "slow life".
Arba Minch, the capital of the Southern Region of Ethiopia, is located in the southern part of the Rift Valley and is known as the "City of the South". This small city is surrounded by mountains and water, bordered by Lake Abaya in the north and Lake Chamo in the south, forming a unique "gateway to the lakes" between the two lakes, which is an important window for viewing African wildlife. The surrounding Omo National Park is known for its pristine tribal culture and rich biodiversity, attracting tourists from all over the world. As the economic center of the region, Arba Mench is based on agriculture and fisheries, but in recent years, tourism has grown rapidly, making it a must-visit destination for exploring the nature and people of southwestern Ethiopia.
