Pingxi District, located in the northeastern part of New Taipei City, Taiwan Province of China, is a Hakka town surrounded by mountains and streams, and is famous for the romantic custom of "releasing sky lanterns in Pingxi". Once a coal-mining town, the town has lost its industrial color and now attracts tourists from all directions with its rustic rural scenery and deep cultural heritage. When night falls, a sky lantern filled with wishes slowly rises into the sky, intertwining starlight and lights, making Pingxi the most representative picture. In addition, the magnificence of the Ten Percent Waterfall, the nostalgic flavor of Jingtong Old Street, and the adorable atmosphere of Monkey Refuge Cat Village all make this land fun to explore. Pingxi is not only the hometown of sky lanterns, but also a poetic place where people can slow down and feel the quietness of the years.
