Pingdingshan City is located in the central part of Henan Province of China, and is an important prefecture-level city in the province, situated in the transition zone between the western Henan Fuyao Mountain area and the Yellow-Huaikai Plain, with a total area of 7,882 square kilometers and a resident population of about 5 million. As an important node city of the Central Plains Economic Zone, Pingdingshan is famous for its coal industry, known as the "Coal Warehouse of the Central Plains", as well as its diversified industrial system of iron and steel, electric power and chemical industry.
Pingdingshan is one of the birthplaces of the Chinese civilization, with national attractions such as the Yao Mountain-Zhongyuan Buddha Scenic Spot (the world's tallest Buddhist statue), the Three Su Gardens (Su Shi's family cemetery), and the Xiangshan Temple. The local specialties, such as Baofeng wine, Lushan silk and Jiaxian iron pot, enjoy a good reputation. The city has convenient transportation, with the Zhengwan High Speed Railway passing through the city, and is about 1.5 hours' drive from Zhengzhou Xinzheng International Airport.
In recent years, Pingdingshan has been promoting industrial transformation, creating the ecological brand of "Eagle City of Shanshui", with the White Turtle Lake National Wetland Park becoming the green lung of the city. the GDP of Pingdingshan will exceed RMB 300 billion in 2023, and the city is being built into a regional center in southwestern Henan Province, with the formation of three hundred-billion-dollar clusters in the fields of energy and chemical industry, equipment manufacturing and new materials.
Sevan is a small town in the Armenian province of Gegharkunik, located in the eastern part of the country on the shores of Lake Sevan, about 66 kilometers from the capital city of Yerevan. The town is famous for its eponymous alpine lake, Lake Sevan, one of the largest freshwater lakes in Eurasia, at an altitude of about 1,900 meters above sea level, which is known as the "Pearl of Armenia".
Lake Sevan is surrounded by magnificent landscapes and crystal clear waters, making it an important tourist and recreational destination in Armenia. The town boasts historical monuments such as the Sevan Monastery, a 9th-century monastery situated on a peninsula overlooking the lake, which attracts many tourists and pilgrims. The local economy is based on fishing, tourism and agriculture, and the climate is cool enough for summer vacations.
With a population of around 20,000, the town of Sevan retains its traditional Armenian culture, while the infrastructure is constantly being improved to provide accommodation and catering services. It is an ideal starting point for exploring the nature and history of the Caucasus and is easily accessible for short trips.
