Pingdingshan City is located in the central part of Henan Province of China, and is an important prefecture-level city in the province, situated in the transition zone between the western Henan Fuyao Mountain area and the Yellow-Huaikai Plain, with a total area of 7,882 square kilometers and a resident population of about 5 million.
