Pendleton is a historic town in Anderson County, South Carolina, United States, located in the northwestern part of the state, about 30 miles from the city of Greenville. The town is known for its well-preserved 19th century architecture and deep cultural heritage.
Founded in 1790, Pendleton is one of the oldest towns in South Carolina. The town center is home to more than 50 historic buildings listed on the National Register of Historic Places, including the Pendleton Borough Historical Museum, built in 1826. The town is also known for the Pendleton Farmstead National Historic Landmark, which showcases a unique look at an early farming community.
Each spring, Pendleton hosts the famous Pendleton Spring Festival, which attracts a large number of visitors who come to experience traditional crafts, music and food. The town is surrounded by beautiful natural landscapes and is close to the Savannah River and the Blue Ridge Mountains, making it ideal for outdoor enthusiasts to hike and fish.

Zhangbei County is located in the northwestern part of Hebei Province, China, belonging to Zhangjiakou Municipality. Located at the southern edge of the Inner Mongolia Plateau, Zhangbei County is an important ecological barrier and wind power base in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region. With an average elevation of about 1400-1600 meters above sea level, Zhangbei has a moderate temperate continental monsoon climate and a pleasantly cool summer, and is known as the "back garden of Beijing".
Zhangbei has a wealth of tourism resources, including the famous "Grassland Sky Road" sightseeing belt, the Yuan Zhongdu ruins, Angulinao grasslands and other natural and cultural landscapes. The "Zhangbei Grassland Music Festival" held every summer attracts tourists from all over the country, while ice and snow tourism programs are carried out in winter. Local specialties include oat noodles, mutton, caraway oil and other agricultural products.
As a renewable energy demonstration area, Zhangbei County has constructed large-scale wind power and photovoltaic power generation projects, and delivers green power to Beijing through the "Zhangbei Soft Direct Project". It is also an important production base for agricultural and livestock products and an ecological functional area in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region.
