Pendleton is a historic town in Anderson County, South Carolina, United States, located in the northwestern part of the state, about 30 miles from the city of Greenville. The town is known for its well-preserved 19th century architecture and deep cultural heritage.
Founded in 1790, Pendleton is one of the oldest towns in South Carolina. The town center is home to more than 50 historic buildings listed on the National Register of Historic Places, including the Pendleton Borough Historical Museum, built in 1826. The town is also known for the Pendleton Farmstead National Historic Landmark, which showcases a unique look at an early farming community.
Each spring, Pendleton hosts the famous Pendleton Spring Festival, which attracts a large number of visitors who come to experience traditional crafts, music and food. The town is surrounded by beautiful natural landscapes and is close to the Savannah River and the Blue Ridge Mountains, making it ideal for outdoor enthusiasts to hike and fish.
Pendleton's economy is dominated by tourism and small businesses, while its proximity to Clemson University benefits from the radiation of educational resources. Qianshan, located in the southwestern part of Anhui Province, at the southeast foot of Dabie Mountain, belonging to Anqing City, is the former capital of the ancient state of Anhui, and has the reputation of "the source of Anhui, the ancient capital of the state of Anhui, the hometown of Erqiao, the ancestor of Peking Opera, and the hometown of Huangmei". It has a long history, with ancestors living and working in the Neolithic Age, and was once the capital of the state of Anhui during the Spring and Autumn Period, with a deep cultural heritage. Tianzhu Mountain, as a national 5A scenic spot, stands in the northwest of the city, with the main peak at an altitude of 1,489.8 meters, with strange peaks, rocks, caves and canyons all over the place, which is known as "the first mountain in Jianghuai", and Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty had sealed it as "Nanyue". Qianshan is also the hometown of Cheng Changgeng, the originator of Peking Opera, the beauty of the Three Kingdoms, the size of Qiao, one of the important birthplaces of Huangmei Opera, the mulberry paper production techniques, Qianshan Huizhou Opera and other non-heritage culture is inherited here. This piece of land combines natural scenery and humanistic heritage, and is a bright ecological and cultural pearl in southwest Anhui Province.
