Pendleton is a historic town in Anderson County, South Carolina, United States, located in the northwestern part of the state, about 30 miles from the city of Greenville. The town is known for its well-preserved 19th century architecture and deep cultural heritage.
Founded in 1790, Pendleton is one of the oldest towns in South Carolina. The town center is home to more than 50 historic buildings listed on the National Register of Historic Places, including the Pendleton Borough Historical Museum, built in 1826. The town is also known for the Pendleton Farmstead National Historic Landmark, which showcases a unique look at an early farming community.
Each spring, Pendleton hosts the famous Pendleton Spring Festival, which attracts a large number of visitors who come to experience traditional crafts, music and food. Aïn Taf is a municipality in the province of Tlemcen in northwestern Algeria, located on the border between the Mediterranean coast and the Tlemcen mountains, about 30 kilometers from the provincial capital, Tlemcen. The region is characterized by a hilly landscape and a Mediterranean climate, with dry, hot summers and mild, rainy winters.
Historically, Attaf was a Berber region, but later it was influenced by Arab culture, resulting in a fusion of Arabic language and Berber traditions. The population is about 15,000 (2020 estimate), mostly engaged in agriculture and small-scale commerce.
The local economy is based on the cultivation of olives, grapes and other cash crops, and the specialty of olive oil is of high quality. The city of Tlemcen is connected to the Mediterranean port of Gijel by the N22 highway, which is about 1 hour's drive. There is no direct railroad connection, the nearest train station is located in downtown Tlemcen.
