Dongshi District, located in the eastern part of Taichung City, Taiwan, belongs to the mountainous area at the western foot of the Central Mountain Range, and is Taiwan's famous "Fruit Township" and Hakka culture town. The terrain here is high in the east and low in the west, with natural landscapes such as the Dongshi Forest and the Guguan Scenic Area in the Heping District. The four seasons are distinctive, with cherry blossom viewing in the spring, summer vacationing in the summer, fruit picking in the fall, and tea-tasting in the winter, attracting a lot of tourists. Dongshi is rich in strawberries, peaches, pears and other fruits, and organizes the Strawberry Cultural Festival and Peach Festival every year to show its agricultural characteristics. The local Hakka culture is strong, and the traditional Hakka architecture and cuisine (such as Hakka tea and noodles) are well preserved, making it an excellent place to experience the Hakka flavor. As the backyard of Taichung City, Dongshi blends natural ecology with humanistic heritage, making it a good choice for leisure travel.
