Pakse, the capital of Salawan Province in southern Laos, is located on the banks of the Serton River, a tributary of the Mekong, and is an important economic and transportation hub of Laos. As the center of the southern region, Pakse is surrounded by tropical crops such as coffee, bananas, and rubber, and has a vibrant trade. It is a blend of traditional Laotian and neighboring cultures, with peaceful temples and unique French colonial architecture. Conveniently connected to Cambodia via a national highway, it is the gateway to scenic Mekong island destinations such as Si Chimei Island. Though not as well known as Vientiane or Luang Prabang, Pakse is a great base for exploring southern Laos with its simple people, rich produce and convenient location.
Aburi is a quiet mountain town in the Eastern Province of Ghana, about 40 kilometers from the capital, Accra, with an altitude of up to 370 meters above sea level and a pleasantly cool climate, and is known as the "backyard of Ghana". The town's most famous attraction is the Aburi Botanical Gardens, a 64-hectare facility built in 1890, which is a popular destination for scientific research and eco-tourism, and is home to a rich variety of tropical plants, including rare flowers, medicinal trees and centuries-old trees. The local economy is based on agriculture and handicrafts, with an abundance of flowers, citrus and other crops, as well as traditional weaving markets and wood carving crafts.
