Singapore is a city-state located in Southeast Asia, consisting of the main island and more than 60 smaller islands, and is known for its multiculturalism, efficient governance and prosperous economy. It is not the name of the city, but the country itself, with the capital city of Singapore. The country has a population of about 5.7 million and the official languages include English, Mandarin, Malay and Tamil.
Located at the southern tip of the Malay Peninsula near the equator, Singapore has a tropical rainforest climate that is warm and humid throughout the year, with average temperatures ranging from 25°C to 31°C. The country has a total area of about 728 square kilometers. Singapore is a globally important financial, trade and shipping center with a highly developed economy. Tourism is one of its mainstays and famous attractions include the Gardens by the Bay, Sentosa Island and the Orchard Road shopping district. Orchard Road is Singapore's famous shopping street, rather than the "Orchard of Singapore", and attracts tourists with high-end shopping malls, restaurants and entertainment facilities.
Singapore's culture is a mix of Chinese, Malay, Indian and Western elements, with good security and a high standard of living. The food culture is rich, with popular dishes such as Hainanese chicken rice and chili crab. The country focuses on education and technological innovation, and is a modern, diverse and inclusive society.
Sevan is a small town in the Armenian province of Gegharkunik, located in the eastern part of the country on the shores of Lake Sevan, about 66 kilometers from the capital city of Yerevan. The town is famous for its eponymous alpine lake, Lake Sevan, one of the largest freshwater lakes in Eurasia, at an altitude of about 1,900 meters above sea level, which is known as the "Pearl of Armenia".
Lake Sevan is surrounded by magnificent landscapes and crystal clear waters, making it an important tourist and recreational destination in Armenia. The town boasts historical monuments such as the Sevan Monastery, a 9th-century monastery situated on a peninsula overlooking the lake, which attracts many tourists and pilgrims. The local economy is based on fishing, tourism and agriculture, and the climate is cool enough for summer vacations.
With a population of around 20,000, the town of Sevan retains its traditional Armenian culture, while the infrastructure is constantly being improved to provide accommodation and catering services. It is an ideal starting point for exploring the nature and history of the Caucasus and is easily accessible for short trips.
