Aurangjung Gora is a small town in the Koshi province of eastern Nepal, located in the foothills of the Himalayas near the center of Jhapa district. It is known for its serene natural beauty and rich cultural traditions, surrounded by lush hills and terraced landscapes. The area is populated mostly by ethnic minorities such as the Limbu and Nivar people, and retains unique folk festivals and handicrafts. The remoteness of Aurangjung Gora, with its road-based transportation and slow pace of life, makes it an ideal place to experience rural Nepalese life. The local economy is based on agriculture, growing crops such as rice and maize, and in recent years a small tourism industry has gradually developed. Although small, the town shows the rustic charm of Nepal's mountainous region.
