Ning County, located in the eastern part of Gansu Province, at the junction of Shaanxi and Gansu provinces, is situated in the hinterland of the Loess Plateau, and is one of the birthplaces of the farming civilization in which the ancestor of the Zhou Dynasty, who was not in a hole, taught his people how to gather crops, and is known as the "Breadbasket of the East Gansu Province".
