Ningjin County is located in the south-central part of Hebei Province, under the jurisdiction of Xingtai City, in the hinterland of the North China Plain, upstream of the Heilonggang Basin, and has been an important transportation hub and material distribution center in southern Hebei since ancient times. The county has a long history and was called Yangdi and Xiaotao in ancient times. Ningjin County was set up in Sui Dynasty and has been in existence for more than 1,400 years since then, and it is the hometown of Cao Nai, the scholar of the Ming Dynasty, with a profound cultural background. The county's economy is based on advanced manufacturing industries, including cable, textile, photovoltaic and other industries, of which the scale of the cable industry ranks the forefront of the country, known as "China's wire and cable township". Agriculture, wheat, corn and other crops, is an important commodity grain base in Hebei. In recent years, Ningjin has been promoting urban and rural development in an integrated manner, preserving the ancient folk culture (such as Ningjin Drum Book) and revitalizing the modern industrial new town, making it a bright pearl on the plains of southern Hebei.
