Navoiy is an important city in the northwestern part of Uzbekistan and the administrative center of Navoiy Oblast, situated on the edge of the Kyzylkum Desert, about 500 kilometers from the capital city of Tashkent. As an important industrial and transportation hub of the country, Navoi is known for its mining and chemical industry, rich in natural gas, gold and non-ferrous metals, large mining and chemical plants and Navoi International Airport, an important air transportation hub in Central Asia. The city's climate is typical of continental aridity, with hot summers and little rain, and cold, dry winters. In recent years, Navoi has gradually developed into an economically active regional center in western Uzbekistan, combining the roles of an industrial town and a transportation node, based on its resource advantages.
Sevan is a small town in the Armenian province of Gegharkunik, located in the eastern part of the country on the shores of Lake Sevan, about 66 kilometers from the capital city of Yerevan. The town is famous for its eponymous alpine lake, Lake Sevan, one of the largest freshwater lakes in Eurasia, at an altitude of about 1,900 meters above sea level, which is known as the "Pearl of Armenia".
Lake Sevan is surrounded by magnificent landscapes and crystal clear waters, making it an important tourist and recreational destination in Armenia. The town boasts historical monuments such as the Sevan Monastery, a 9th-century monastery situated on a peninsula overlooking the lake, which attracts many tourists and pilgrims.
